About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to provide lobby and front desk security at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Overland Park, Kansas. The role serves and safeguards employees, visitors, and vendors while helping create a professional and welcoming environment. The officer greets and assists guests, follows site-specific security procedures, monitors access and visitor activity, responds to security concerns, and maintains clear records and communications. The position pays $19.63 per hour. The posted schedule is Wednesday 8:15 PM–1:00 AM and Thursday through Sunday 3:30 PM–11:30 PM.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at the front desk while carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies.
Greet visitors, verify identification and appointments, issue visitor credentials, and direct guests according to access-control procedures.
Monitor access points, visitor activity, and security-related systems from the front desk, escalating unusual activity or concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations, following emergency response protocols when appropriate.
Maintain accurate visitor logs, incident documentation, and communication records while supporting a professional and welcoming reception environment.
