About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for lobby operations at a residential location in Wilmington, Delaware. The officer will welcome residents and visitors, manage access, monitor activity, respond to security-related concerns, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role emphasizes professional customer service, clear communication, and compliance with site-specific procedures and policies. The schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. The pay rate is $17.40 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. State or local licensing may be required before employment. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment to the extent permitted by law.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment.
Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
Greet visitors, verify access authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct individuals according to site procedures.
Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk, and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and courteously to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, following established escalation procedures.
Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
