Security Officer Part Time Patrol - Global Shipping Company
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed patrol Security Officer for an assigned site in New York, NY. The position provides a designated weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment, plus the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Employees may increase or reduce their hours, with the opportunity to build toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The role involves providing security and customer service at a global shipping company site, including patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, entry points, and the facility perimeter. The Security Officer monitors access, responds to incidents and vehicle traffic concerns, and reports irregular or unsafe conditions. The listed pay rate is $17.00–$18.00 per hour. The scheduled anchor shift is Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, vehicle traffic issues, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document observations according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, entry points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers in accordance with site requirements.
- Observe and report irregular conditions, damaged property, unsecured doors or gates, and other security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
