About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an unarmed patrol position at a global shipping company site in New York, NY. The role provides reliable hours at an assigned site, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The assigned weekly shift requires a six-month commitment. Employees may pick up shifts at multiple sites and may build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The pay rate is $17.00–$18.00 per hour. The listed schedule is Wednesday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. The position involves providing customer service, conducting patrols, monitoring site access, responding to incidents, and documenting activity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements applicable under state or local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers entering or exiting the location.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
- Document patrols, incidents, access-related activities, and observed irregularities according to site procedures.
