About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time enhanced unarmed Security Officer in Chicago, Illinois. The role provides reliable hours at an assigned retail site, with a fixed weekly schedule and the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated site and weekly anchor shift require a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may allow the employee to work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back.

The listed schedule is Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour. The officer provides customer service while following site-specific security procedures, conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, reporting concerns, responding to incidents, and completing required documentation.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, guests, and retail associates while carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, stock areas, and the exterior perimeter.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in accordance with established protocols.
• Complete accurate reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
