About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Richmond, Virginia. The position provides a consistent assigned-site shift, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. The designated weekly shift is an anchor schedule requiring a six-month commitment. Additional shifts may be available across multiple sites, and hours may vary, with the possibility of building up to 40 hours per week. The role pays $18.73 per hour and is scheduled Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The Security Officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site policies, access control, patrols, and appropriate emergency response activities. Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to applicable background investigation and drug screening requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage access control points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor entry records, and direct individuals according to site requirements.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access-related concerns, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
