About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer for patrol coverage at a behavioral healthcare location in Richmond, Virginia. The position provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment. The officer may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform to increase hours and earnings, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and scale back when needed. The scheduled anchor shift is Tuesday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a behavioral healthcare location while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents, behavioral health crises, and critical situations, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location; document incidents, unusual conditions, and policy violations in clear, accurate reports.
• Help maintain a welcoming environment for individuals receiving services while maintaining professional boundaries and coordinating with site staff and emergency responders when needed.
