About The Position

As a part-time unarmed Security Officer at an educational campus in the Bronx, NY, you will help safeguard students, staff, visitors, and campus property. You will patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support a welcoming environment, provide customer service, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. The role offers access to Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. The position pays $21.30 per hour. The listed schedule is Friday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, and Saturday, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and assist with visitor entry procedures and credential verification.
Report unauthorized access or unusual activity in accordance with site policies.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify campus contacts or emergency responders as directed.
Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and observed security conditions, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site personnel.
