About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a college campus in the Bronx, New York. The role serves and safeguards the educational community by monitoring and patrolling campus areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and helping provide a welcoming environment. The officer communicates professionally with students, staff, and visitors and responds to security-related concerns. The schedule includes Tuesday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM, Thursday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, Friday 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, and Saturday 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. The pay rate is $21.30 per hour.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, follow site protocols, and contact appropriate campus resources or emergency responders.
Monitor access points and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through required communication and reporting procedures.
Maintain a visible professional presence and provide directions, escorts, and general assistance to support a welcoming campus environment.
