Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Public Assistance
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location in Arleta, California, you will help safeguard clients, customers, and staff. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide customer service and clear communication. The role involves responding to incidents and concerns, documenting observations and actions, and coordinating with site management and public service personnel when needed. The schedule is overnight: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:00 PM–6:00 AM. Pay is $20.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any licensing requirements imposed by state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and constructively to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas.
- Help deter theft, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and other unwanted activity through a professional presence and timely reporting of suspicious activity.
- Monitor access points and retail operations for security-related concerns, communicating with site management and public service personnel as needed.
