Security Officer Building Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer Building Access Control in Costa Mesa, California, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries including retail and malls. In this unarmed security role at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide customer service. You will communicate professionally with visitors and staff while supporting security operations through routine observations and reporting. The role is full-time and pays $23.49 per hour. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. You will follow site-specific procedures and policies, respond to emergencies, and report observations according to established procedures. Employment is subject to a background investigation and drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Applicable licensing requirements may apply.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to retail associates, shoppers, and visitors while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail sales areas, stockrooms, exterior walkways, parking areas, and the business perimeter as assigned.
- Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, contacting appropriate resources when needed.
- Help deter theft, unauthorized access, and disruptive behavior through a professional presence and adherence to post orders.
