About The Position

The Security Officer L1 performs administrative and operational duties for a site security team under the direction of the Security Supervisor. Working closely with the Data Center Operations Team, the officer helps ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly. This experienced, client-facing role protects personnel and company property through access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and thorough written reporting. It also collaborates with other departments, including Shipping & Receiving, to support efficient data center operations. The officer follows security procedures and policies established by Security Management and contributes to a safe environment for customers, personnel, and infrastructure.

The position is on-site in a data center and its surrounding grounds. It involves exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, weather, and unpleasant fumes or odors, as well as possible extensive computer use. The officer must follow PPE requirements, wear the NTT security uniform, and adhere to the company dress code and personal standards. Work may occur outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, and holidays, and includes participation in an on-call protocol. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies and use a cellular-connected personal mobile device for the BYOD program.

The listed US base salary range is $20.19 to $28.85. Regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus dependent on individual and company performance. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year in a security role, or an equivalent combination of education and professional background.
• Active Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO) certification as required by state regulations; certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment and maintained throughout employment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to work on-site, outside normal business hours as required, including weekends, late nights, and holidays, and participate in on-call protocol.
• Ability to participate in the BYOD program using a cellular-connected smart mobile device capable of downloading active applications.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification; NTT provides initial and ongoing certification training.
• Strong observation and surveillance skills and ability to detect and respond effectively to security threats.
• Knowledge of standard security team methods, practices, tools, and equipment, occupational hazards, and safety rules.
• Ability to remain calm during emergencies, follow instructions and procedures, and work effectively in a rigorous, process-driven team environment.
• Excellent client-facing customer service and clear, concise written and verbal communication with clients, vendors, and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

• Additional education or training in security-related fields.
• Prior experience in a data center or similar environment.
• Prior experience administering and operating access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it while working for NTT.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees, clients, vendors, and visitors on company property have proper company-issued identification.
• Patrol assigned posts on foot, maintain visibility, and observe possible unusual activity.
• Help provide clients, their associates, and NTT personnel with a safe and professional work environment.
• Monitor and maintain security technologies, including CCTV and access control systems.
• Investigate, address, and report security, maintenance, and safety conditions.
• Complete concise and thorough daily documentation, including Shift Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and Shift Passdown Logs.
• Follow NTT Data policies, security procedure manuals, and company policies.
• Assist personnel with security-related requests and guide them on security processes and protocols.
• Complete assigned access control, combustible, and badge discrepancy audits.
• Assist with Shipping & Receiving as needed, including accepting, logging, and tracking shipments when the primary S&R Officer is unavailable.
• Respond to site emergencies and coordinate with local emergency services.
• Investigate and report fires, evacuations, hazardous situations, and other facility-related events.
• Thoroughly investigate security-related accidents and incidents, including interviewing witnesses, complainants, and victims.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and perform other assigned job-related duties.
• Support tasks in nearby buildings and use company vehicles as needed.
