About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time enhanced unarmed patrol Security Officer in Westfield, Massachusetts. The position provides a designated site and regular weekly anchor shifts, requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust hours as needed.

The officer provides security and customer service at a retail location, conducts patrols, monitors for unusual activity and hazards, responds to incidents, assists with access control, and documents daily activity. The role pays $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state and local requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, associates, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor for unusual activity, potential hazards, and policy violations, and report observations to store leadership or emergency personnel as appropriate.
• Assist with access control and visitor directions.
• Document incidents and daily activity according to Allied Universal and location procedures.
