Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Services
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer in Honolulu, Hawaii, serving retail and mall locations. The officer helps safeguard clients and create a welcoming environment by monitoring assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, assisting visitors and tenants, and providing customer service. The role requires clear communication, teamwork, integrity, and a calm, professional approach to concerns and incidents. The schedule includes overnight shifts: Monday and Friday, 11:30 PM–7:30 AM, and Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 PM–7:30 AM. The pay rate is $21.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet.
- Customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, tenants, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail common areas, storefront perimeters, parking areas, and adjacent property boundaries to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as directed.
- Monitor access points and observe activity to support compliance with site rules and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, and policy violations.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and responding personnel about incidents and daily activities.
