About The Position

As a part-time Armed Patrol Officer supporting a utilities location in Minneapolis, Minnesota, you will help safeguard clients by conducting routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, and responding professionally to security-related concerns. The role includes customer service, access control, incident response, and accurate documentation while following site procedures, applicable laws, and company policies. Allied Universal offers a shift-claiming platform and opportunities to access additional shifts.

Requirements

At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
Armed Guard Card or License.
At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service while following security procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and appropriate emergency-response procedures at a utility location.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; communicate observations and actions to site contacts and emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry and exit for visitors, contractors, and vehicles according to site procedures.
Prepare accurate reports and logs covering incidents, patrols, access activity, and unusual conditions.
Maintain professional firearm-handling practices in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
