Security Officer Part Time Armed
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed Security Officer to support a government location in Jacksonville, Florida. The role involves protecting clients and the public by maintaining a visible security presence, providing customer service, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, and following site-specific security procedures and emergency protocols. The position pays $22.66 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The officer may use Allied Universal’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law and must participate in industry-specific security training.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- An armed guard card or license.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established reporting and notification protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity.
- Report suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related observations.
