About The Position

Armorous is hiring a part-time Armed Security Officer for a recycling yard. The officer safeguards property, deters criminal activity, and helps ensure safety. Duties include access control, theft deterrence, hourly patrols, and responding to security incidents.

The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, for 16 hours per week, with opportunities for additional shifts. Compensation is $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid BSIS Guard Card and BSIS Firearm Permit.
• Current BSIS compliance, including an 8-hour Initial Training Certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificates.
• Experience working graveyard shifts.
• Required equipment: tactical vest, handcuffs, and a less-than-lethal device such as a baton or OC spray.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols to monitor and secure designated locations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety.
• Respond to incidents and provide support in emergency situations.
• Document daily activity, incidents, and observations accurately in reports.
• Communicate security updates and concerns to supervisors and team members.
