Security Officer Access Authorization
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Access Authorization for a chemical and petrochemical location in Port Lavaca, Texas. The officer will safeguard the site by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing employee, contractor, and visitor access, and following site-specific security procedures. The role also involves routine patrols, responding to access-related incidents and alarms, communicating hazards and policy violations, and providing professional customer service. This is primarily a driving post. The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.79 per hour.
Requirements
- Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct individuals according to site requirements.
- Respond calmly to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations, escalating concerns through established reporting channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, perimeter areas, and operational locations to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
- Communicate observed hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site personnel.
