About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer Access Authorization in Columbia, South Carolina, serving a chemical and petrochemical site. The officer safeguards the client’s facility by monitoring access points, verifying credentials, managing badges, responding to alarms, and maintaining accurate access records. The role requires a visible presence, professional customer service, and clear communication.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, managing visitor and contractor entry, maintaining access records, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations, follow site procedures, and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facility areas, and the perimeter to identify irregular conditions and support site operations.
• Document daily activities, incidents, access-control concerns, and observations according to Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.
