About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Authorization in De Soto, Kansas, you will serve and safeguard clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location. In this unarmed security role, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, manage access control activities, provide customer service, and respond to security-related concerns. You will use communication and computer skills to support a welcoming environment. The position is full-time and pays $22.28 per hour. The schedule lists shifts from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; the posting states 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state or local laws and regulations before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking facilities, and perimeter locations; identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to site procedures, document observations, and escalate concerns to designated personnel.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and shift reports, and communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
