About The Position

The Security Officer 1 facilitates traffic flow, provides directions and assistance, promotes safety, and creates a positive first impression for patients, guests, and visitors. The role maintains security at all hospital outlets.

Requirements

• High school equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, visitors, and other guests and provides information to help them reach their destinations.
• Manages wheelchair distribution and provides security escorts for guests and employees to and from vehicles upon request.
• Keeps fire-zone areas clear of excessive traffic and unattended vehicles, and patrols the premises to help ensure the security of patients, visitors, and guests.
• Issues parking violation tickets as necessary and prepares Security Incident/Occurrence reports related to violations.
• Applies appropriate crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
• Responds to and provides security dispatch for hospital emergencies, including codes, community disasters or incidents, severe weather warnings, and potential disaster situations that may bring large volumes of patients or others to the facility.
• Works with Tracer Security Services to initiate use of a boot for chronic parking violators in the area.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
