About The Position

Patrols hospital property, screens visitors, and performs activities to ensure the safety and security of hospital property and personnel. Reports to the appropriate supervisor.

Requirements

• Current Mississippi driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from a recognized security school or law enforcement program.

Responsibilities

• Makes periodic tours of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secured.
• Inspects buildings and grounds to watch for and guard against fire, theft, illegal entry, safety-regulation infractions, and other irregularities.
• Investigates disturbances and takes charge of policing during emergencies to maintain order and safety and protect property.
• Follows applicable local, state, and federal security regulations and restrictions.
• Calls the fire department in the event of a fire or certain emergencies and notifies police about theft, breaking and entering, or other matters requiring police notification.
• Coordinates company or office parking facilities and regulations.
• Valet parks as necessary for patients and families.
• Admits and releases authorized persons and checks that company articles are not removed from the property without proper approval.
