About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Security Monitor I for Community Corrections to supervise the facility population and support the safety, security, and sanitation of the facility. The role provides for the care, custody, and control of residents and helps establish a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The posting specifies “FEMALE ONLY.”

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
• Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to complex issues.
• Must be available to work any hours and any shift.
• Must complete required pre-service and other training programs.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in the operations of a correctional facility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents and report suspicious activities or violations of policies, procedures, or regulations.
• Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or directed by facility administration.
• Process residents for intake and discharge in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Monitor resident worker activities, provide necessary instruction, and apply standards and procedures for the completion and quality of resident work, where applicable.
• Perform rescue functions during accidents, emergencies, and disasters, including administering basic emergency medical aid and CPR, moving people away from danger, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.
