About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Security Monitor I for its Community Corrections operation. This role supervises the facility population and is responsible for safety, security, and facility sanitation. The Security Monitor provides for the care, custody, and control of residents and helps establish a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The position is identified as male only. Two pay options are offered: $19.08, including medical benefits, or $22.68, without medical benefits. Both options include PTO, paid holidays, and a 401(k).

Requirements

High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to complex issues.
Must be available to work any hours and any shift.
Must complete pre-service and other required training programs.
Must be at least 20 years of age.

Nice To Haves

Work experience in the operations of a correctional facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise the facility population and help maintain safety, security, and facility sanitation.
Monitor residents and report suspicious activities or violations of policies, procedures, or regulations by residents or other individuals.
Conduct resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required.
Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or directed by facility administration.
Process residents for intake and discharge in accordance with policies and procedures.
Monitor resident worker activities, provide necessary instruction, and apply standards and procedures for the completion and quality of resident work, where applicable.
Perform rescue functions during accidents, emergencies, and disasters, including administering basic emergency medical aid and CPR, physically removing people from danger, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.
