About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Lobby officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and property they protect. The role supports the company’s goal of delivering best-in-class security and life safety services and requires a visible, professional presence at the assigned facility or building. Duties may vary by customer location. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., at the Loading Dock. Compensation is $22.60 per hour. Harvard Protection Services describes itself as a privately owned security services provider focused on employee support, customer service, safety, teamwork, client focus, and accountability.

Requirements

Hold state- or municipality-mandated security officer licenses.
Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Have reliable means of communication and transportation.
Have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Have computer skills and the ability to operate and manage security and communication devices effectively.
Be able to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and with customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer questions and assist guests and employees in a customer-focused, supportive manner.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn facility or building policies and procedures and enforce them within required limits.
Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems as required.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
