About The Position

Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Lobby officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and property they protect. The role supports a safe and secure environment through customer assistance, access control, monitoring, patrols, emergency procedures, and reporting. Duties may vary depending on the customer location assigned.

Requirements

State- or municipality-mandated security officer licenses.
At least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Reliable means of communication and transportation.
A security guard license, or the ability to obtain one within an acceptable period.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Neat and professional appearance.
Computer skills and the ability to effectively operate and manage security and communication devices.
Ability to write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reports.

Nice To Haves

Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility or building.
Monitor the environment and identify suspicious or unsafe activity.
Become familiar with incoming and outgoing traffic and recognize customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally.
Answer questions and assist guests and employees in a supportive, customer-focused manner.
Answer phones professionally.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
Learn facility or building policies and procedures and enforce them within required limits.
Conduct required patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Observe departing personnel to help prevent theft of company property and ensure property removal is authorized under customer requirements.
Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
Monitor alarms and systems as required.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities as directed.
