About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Response for an assigned shopping-center site in Champaign, Illinois. The position provides a fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Employees may build up to a full-time schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and can scale back when needed. The listed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if the position involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, associates, and vendors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, policy violations, and potential hazards to help deter theft, trespassing, and unauthorized access.
• Accurately document observations, incidents, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
