About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring part-time Security Guards to oversee a business center in the Columbus Circle area of Manhattan. Guards safeguard clients and provide customer service to the general public, the client, and staff. The position involves carrying out safety and security procedures, following site-specific policies, responding to emergencies and incidents, and conducting regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Candidates should be flexible to work Monday through Sunday. Available shifts include morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight. The hourly pay rate is $22.87. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements depend on applicable state and local laws and may need to be met before employment; a valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements before employment, if required.
• Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.
• Be flexible to work Monday through Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures and site-specific policies, and conducting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
• Interact with the general public, the client, and staff.
