About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer for a retail shopping center in Paramus, New Jersey. The officer will safeguard clients, support access control, and maintain a visible presence through routine patrols. The role includes serving visitors, tenants, and staff with clear communication and exceptional customer service while helping maintain a welcoming environment. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 12:00 PM–9:30 PM. Pay is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Experience with access control and badges.
A guard card or license.
Customer service experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and employees by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of common areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas; identify and report security-related concerns.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in accordance with site procedures.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location.
Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
