Security Guard Full Time Patrol Customer Assistance
About The Position
As a full-time unarmed patrol officer at a cultural institution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you will help safeguard the client, its visitors, staff, volunteers, vendors, collections, and property. You will patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible security presence, monitor access points and spaces, and provide welcoming customer service. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns and incidents, and help support a positive museum experience. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.25 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, drug screening. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Submit to drug screening as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements if required prior to employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, galleries, public areas, and restricted spaces; verify credentials and direct guests according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of exhibition spaces, offices, collection-related areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, visitor concerns, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document observations as required.
- Report suspicious activity, prohibited items, unauthorized access, and damaged conditions to help protect artwork, collections, property, and people.
