About The Position

Sahara Global Security is seeking an armed or unarmed Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. The position is based out of Toledo, Ohio, and reports to Sahara Global Security personnel at the Toledo Field Office. Work is in person, with locations including Norwalk or Fremont, Ohio, and is seasonal or as needed. The role is part-time, with an expected 8–29 hours per week. Pay is $18 per hour for unarmed work and $25 per hour for armed work. The company describes itself as a Columbus-based, veteran-owned security guard provider founded on July 4, 2021. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of security experience.
At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Driver's license.
Successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
For armed applicants, an OPOTA Certificate is required.
Ability to commute to Norwalk, Ohio, or Fremont, Ohio, or relocate there before starting work.

Nice To Haves

2–3 years of security experience preferred.
1 year of military or law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Secure facilities and property through observation and inspections.
Monitor surveillance equipment and access-control points; permit or deny entry to premises.
Sound facility alarms to summon help.
Prevent losses and damage; report irregularities, inform violators of policies and procedures, and restrain trespassers.
Direct drivers to control traffic.
Write reports and maintain activity logs, recording observations, information, and surveillance activity; interview witnesses.
Support facility and personnel safety through access control, screening, and divesting procedures.
Maintain a professional, courteous, uplifting, neutral, and understanding demeanor with people from diverse backgrounds.
Comply with legal requirements.
Communicate and coordinate with the team by deconflicting, sharing ideas, and complementing others' efforts.
De-escalate volatile situations and protect vulnerable people from physical and non-physical threats.
Contribute to a safe and secure work environment and project peace.
