About The Position

Sahara Global Security is hiring an armed or unarmed Security Guard for seasonal, as-needed work in the Fremont and Tiffin, Ohio area. The role is based out of Toledo, Ohio, and reports to Sahara Global Security personnel at the Toledo Field Office. The guard helps maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, visitors, facilities, and personnel through observation, inspections, access control, screening, and a professional, proactive approach. The position may involve armed or unarmed duties. Applicants for armed work must have an OPOTA Certificate. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of security experience.
At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
Ability to commute to Fremont, Ohio, or Tiffin, Ohio, or relocate there before starting work.
OPOTA Certificate for armed applicants.

Nice To Haves

2–3 years of security experience.
At least 1 year of military or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

Secure facilities and property through observation and inspections.
Monitor surveillance equipment and access-control points; permit or deny entry to premises.
Sound facility alarms to alert others when assistance is needed.
Prevent losses and damage, report irregularities, explain policies and procedures to violators, and restrain trespassers.
Direct drivers to control traffic.
Write reports and maintain activity logs; record observations, information, and surveillance activity; interview witnesses.
Maintain facility and personnel safety through access control, screening, and divesting procedures.
Conduct oneself professionally, courteously, and in a manner that supports the client site and people from diverse backgrounds.
Comply with legal requirements.
Communicate and coordinate with the team by deconflicting, sharing ideas, and complementing others' efforts.
De-escalate volatile situations and protect vulnerable people from physical and non-physical threats.
Contribute to a safe and secure work environment and project peace.
