Security Guard Part Time Entry Authorization
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Guard for entry authorization at an assigned logistics and distribution site in Elmsford, New York. The position provides a fixed weekly anchor shift, requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Hours may vary week to week based on claimed shifts, with the opportunity to build up to 40 hours per week and the ability to scale back. The designated schedule is Wednesday, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.92 to $17.92 per hour. The role involves customer service, access control, monitoring and recording entries and exits, controlling vehicle and pedestrian access, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by following site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials or visitor authorization, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian access at gates, docks, and other designated entry points in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts or emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, and the business perimeter to identify unauthorized activity and support security-related operations.
