About The Position

As a part-time Security Guard at a manufacturing and industrial location in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, and assisting visitors and employees professionally. You will provide a visible security presence, respond to security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with site personnel. The role calls for a customer-focused approach and supervisory experience. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM. The pay rate is $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of security-related experience (preferred).
Supervisory experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access-control procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points; verify identification and authorization credentials; issue visitor badges; and maintain accurate access logs according to site procedures.
Control access for vehicles, personnel, and deliveries entering restricted areas, escalating unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and with a problem-solving approach to incidents and critical situations, including access-control alarms, medical events, and facility-related emergencies.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
