About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed security guard for a retail property patrol assignment in Jacksonville, Florida. This part-time position has a designated site and weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shift is Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at a rate of $16.50 per hour. The employee may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours per week and scaling back as needed.

The guard provides customer service and carries out security procedures and site policies. Duties include unarmed patrols of the retail store and surrounding areas, responding professionally to incidents, monitoring access and deliveries, and communicating with store personnel, customers, law enforcement, and company leadership. The role requires activity reports and incident documentation.

Applicants must have at least six months of security-related experience, be at least 18 years old for unarmed work, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local regulations. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the retail store, parking areas, garden center, receiving areas, and surrounding perimeter.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer disputes, suspected theft, and critical situations; document observations and notify site leadership or emergency services as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, deliveries, and restricted areas according to site procedures.
• Communicate professionally with store personnel, customers, law enforcement, and Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete required activity reports and incident documentation.
