About The Position

Unarmed Security Guards will provide security services in San Antonio, Texas, with positions based on a potential contract award. Various shifts are available. Guards must meet the stated education, communication, conduct, health, and physical fitness standards and be able to perform the general duties, functions, and activities described in the Performance Work Statement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Ability to read and understand printed rules, regulations, detailed written orders, instructions, and training materials in English, and to compose clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports.
• Ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress.
• Ability to deal with the public professionally.
• Must be at least 18 years old, as required by local laws.
• Must be capable of detaining individuals while VA Police or local police are notified and respond.
• Binocular vision correctable to 20/30 (Snellen).
• Must not be color blind.
• Ability to hear ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear without a hearing aid.
• Physical ability to perform all general duties, functions, and activities described in the Performance Work Statement.
• Must be free of communicable diseases and in good general health, without physical defects or abnormalities that would interfere with performance of the duties.
• Documented tuberculosis testing every two years and a TB-free test result before starting work on the contract.
