About The Position

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer serves and safeguards clients across industries and works at a variety of sites. The position offers 30–40 hours per week. Schedules vary week to week and combine manager-assigned shifts with shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift self-scheduling program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly; officers must be prepared for irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. The role is based in Washington, DC, and is described as an opportunity to gain experience across different sites and pursue advancement within Allied Universal.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
Availability to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Reliable transportation.
Availability for last-minute shift scheduling.
Ability to travel required distances.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation, in accordance with applicable law.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
Watch for unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
