Security Guard Unarmed Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Guard Unarmed Patrol in San Jose, California, you will help safeguard a public transportation location. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide customer service and clear communication. You will support a welcoming environment for employees, riders, and visitors while representing Allied Universal’s culture through teamwork and integrity. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The pay rate is $22.83 per hour. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, offices, and surrounding perimeters to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established site protocols.
- Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directing visitors, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
