Security Guard Part Time - Global Shipping Company
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Guard for an assigned logistics and distribution site in Maspeth, New York. The role provides a fixed weekly anchor shift requiring a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Extra shifts may be available at multiple sites, allowing hours to vary up to 40 per week. The listed shift is Saturday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Pay is $17.10–$18.10 per hour. The Security Guard provides customer service while following security procedures and site-specific policies, responds to incidents and access concerns, conducts unarmed patrols, monitors and documents access, and reports security concerns. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law. Licensing may be required under applicable state or local rules.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, escalating issues according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, vehicle entry points, building perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
- Monitor and document truck, employee, visitor, and vendor access according to site-specific requirements.
- Report hazards, damaged property, suspicious activity, and other security-related concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
