About The Position
As a part-time unarmed patrol security officer at a logistics and distribution location in New York, NY, you will help safeguard clients by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide customer service and clear communication while working with a team that emphasizes reliability, agility, innovation, integrity, and putting people first. The schedule includes Monday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Friday 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, and Saturday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. The pay rate is $17.00–$18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by following site-specific procedures and access-control protocols, and assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, facility entrances, and perimeter locations; identify and report security-related concerns.
- Monitor vehicle, visitor, and employee access according to site procedures; verify credentials, maintain required logs, and direct authorized personnel appropriately.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
- Help maintain an orderly logistics and distribution environment by observing activity, reporting unusual conditions, and following Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
