About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational campus in Farmington, Connecticut. The officer will safeguard the campus, maintain a visible security presence, and provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role includes monitoring and patrolling campus areas, communicating observations, responding to incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. The position pays $21.91 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Employees can use the company’s Claim a Shift platform to view and claim additional shifts. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and campus policies and participating in appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, following established reporting and notification procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and campus activity, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Provide directions, escorts, and general information while maintaining a professional presence in an educational setting.
