About The Position

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Security and Safety Manager to join their pre-opening team. This role will manage daily security and workplace-safety operations, ensuring the protection and wellbeing of guests, residents, employees, visitors, and property assets. The position requires compliance with Four Seasons standards and applicable local requirements.

Requirements

  • University degree or technical qualification in Security Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive security, safety, military, law-enforcement, loss-prevention or occupational-safety experience, including previous supervisory or management responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, workplace safety, risk assessments, investigations, emergency response, access control, CCTV and fire-life-safety procedures.
  • Calm and sound judgment under pressure, strong leadership and communication skills, high integrity and the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Fluency in Spanish and working proficiency in English are required.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the Dominican Republic.

Nice To Haves

  • Luxury-hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Current certification in occupational safety, first aid, CPR, fire safety or emergency management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the daily activities of the Security and Safety team, ensuring effective coverage of the resort, residences and supporting facilities.
  • Participate in pre-opening risk assessments, operational-readiness inspections and the development of security, occupational-safety and emergency-response procedures.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach and develop Security employees, maintaining high standards of performance, professionalism and guest interaction.
  • Oversee security patrols, access-control points, CCTV monitoring, key control, loading areas, employee entrances and other security-sensitive locations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, injuries, medical situations, fire alarms, disturbances and other incidents, coordinating an organized response and appropriate follow-up.
  • Conduct and document investigations involving accidents, workplace injuries, losses, theft, property damage, policy violations and other security or safety-related matters.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, witness statements, investigation files, daily activity logs, safety records and trend analyses.
  • Conduct regular security, occupational health and safety, fire-life-safety and risk inspections throughout guest, residential, employee and back-of-house areas.
  • Track identified hazards and corrective actions, collaborating with department leaders to ensure their timely resolution.
  • Support the development, implementation and regular testing of emergency, evacuation, hurricane, severe-weather, fire and crisis-management procedures.
  • Coordinate safety training and awareness programs covering emergency procedures, accident prevention, safe working practices, personal protective equipment and incident reporting.
  • Support departmental compliance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements and maintain required inspection, training and incident documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering to monitor and maintain CCTV, access-control, alarm, radio, emergency and fire-life-safety systems.
  • Participate in workplace accident reviews and recommend preventive measures based on incident trends, risk assessments and operational observations.
  • Establish professional working relationships with emergency services, law-enforcement agencies, medical providers and relevant government authorities under the direction of the Director of Security and Safety.
  • Coordinate security and safety arrangements for VIP visits, special events, large groups, contractors and other activities requiring additional risk planning.
