About The Position

CHAGEE is hiring seasonal Tea Baristas, called Charistas, to support its Sherman Oaks teahouse during the high-volume Thanksgiving through New Year’s season. This fixed-term seasonal role runs approximately two to three months, with hours guaranteed to remain under 29 per week. Top performers may be considered for conversion to a permanent part-time position at the end of the season. The role pays $20 per hour and reports to the Store Manager. Charistas prepare drinks according to company standards and procedures, provide excellent customer service, share menu and tea knowledge, and help maintain an orderly and safe work area. The position requires availability for evenings, weekends, and public holidays during peak dates, including Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve. Company training is required before the start date. A Food Handler’s Permit must be obtained within 30 days of starting; the company can assist.

Strong teamwork skills and a solid work ethic.
Ability to upsell and suggest items to customers.
Availability for evenings, weekends, and public holidays throughout the season, including Thanksgiving weekend, Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve.
Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Obtain a Food Handler’s Permit within 30 days of the start date.

Responsibilities

Prepare drink orders to company standards with speed and consistency during high-volume periods.
Follow standard operating procedures and the preparation manual.
Learn the menu, introduce new products, and share tea insights with customers.
Provide excellent customer service, particularly during seasonal rush periods.
Maintain a clean and organized working area.
Comply with health and safety regulations.
Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently and receive customer payments accurately.
Participate in company training before the start date.
Take on other responsibilities and ad hoc assignments as needed.
