About The Position

Eurest is hiring a seasonal Barista at the Capital One Cafe in Durham, North Carolina. The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, following approved recipes, production standards, and HACCP food-handling guidelines. The role includes taking and entering customer orders, processing payments, maintaining supplies and cleanliness, presenting food attractively, and providing friendly, efficient customer service. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with shifts listed as 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m.; further details are provided during the interview. Customer service experience is preferred, and training is offered. The fixed pay rate is $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
Maintain proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction; relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently and help prevent delays in serving lines.
Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
