About The Position
The Hills is hiring Seasonal Servers for its Food & Beverage - Service Department at Discovery Land Company’s Hamptons locations: The Hills in East Quogue, New York, and Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, New York. The role is available April 1, 2027 through October 31, 2027, and H-2B visa sponsorship is available. The employer of record is DLV Hamptons Management LLC. Servers help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members, guests, and fellow employees by providing attentive service, supporting the team, and maintaining accurate orders and a clean, properly equipped restaurant.
Requirements
- Six months of experience in high-volume restaurants, resorts, or private clubs.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shifts longer than eight hours.
- Work indoors and outdoors.
- Stand, walk, and move for more than four hours.
- Lift, carry, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull; may need to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of safe food-handling practices.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and members promptly and politely, using their names whenever possible.
- Know food and beverage offerings, including dish preparation, components, and allergens.
- Address member and guest issues or concerns professionally, courteously, and promptly.
- Run food, clear tables, and reset China, glassware, or silverware as needed.
- Support the team to ensure efficient service.
- Enter orders accurately into the point-of-sale system and ensure checks are accurate throughout service.
- Communicate with team members and managers during service.
- Complete opening and closing procedures as instructed.
- Check restaurant areas for garbage, dishes, and glassware, maintaining attention to detail.
- Assist with departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitor inventory levels through regular checks.
- Maintain equipment and handle it properly.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
