About The Position
Salt & Straw is hiring seasonal Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences and help the shop run smoothly. Scoopers welcome guests, guide them through flavors, share ingredient stories, offer samples, and build meaningful connections. The role includes scooping ice cream, making waffle cones, operating the register, handling online and delivery orders, preparing products to recipes and quality standards, restocking, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness. Team members also support dishwashing and other operational tasks and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position is located in Amsterdam, New York. The role involves working around common food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, and seafood. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts, as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for guests.
- Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
- Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
- Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
- Process transactions accurately and assist with online and delivery orders.
- Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
- Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
- Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
