About The Position

Salt & Straw is hiring Scoopers to create memorable guest experiences and help the shop run smoothly. Scoopers serve ice cream while guiding guests through the flavors, sharing ingredient stories, offering samples, and creating meaningful connections. This role is based at the Silver Lake location in Los Angeles, California, and is part-time, with an hourly wage of $18.42 plus average tips of $7.72.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old.
Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to work at least three shifts per week, including two closing shifts.
Enjoy working with people and creating memorable guest experiences.
Have strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy staying busy.
Work well as part of a team and support teammates.
Be curious, dependable, and eager to learn.
Be comfortable discussing flavors, offering samples, and engaging with guests.

Nice To Haves

Food service, retail, coffee, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service and create welcoming experiences for every guest.
Share flavor stories, offer samples, and help guests discover flavors.
Scoop ice cream, make waffle cones, operate the register, and support daily shop operations.
Greet guests, answer questions, and help guide the flow of the shop.
Accurately process transactions and assist with online and delivery orders.
Prepare products according to recipes and quality standards.
Restock ice cream, supplies, and retail products throughout the shift.
Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization standards across the shop.
Support dishwashing, cleaning, and other operational tasks.
Work collaboratively with teammates to create a positive and supportive environment.
