Seasonal Ops Supervisor
About The Position
Paxon is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Seasonal Operations Supervisor to oversee warehouse and distribution center activities at its Reno facility during peak season. The role manages shift activities, teams, and processes to support efficient, safe, and accurate warehouse operations and maximize site productivity. The position includes coordinating staffing and fulfillment schedules, overseeing inventory and equipment, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Work is split between an office and warehouse, with occasional travel to vendor or client locations and less than 5% overall travel.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of related experience in warehousing, receiving, or inventory control; multi-client warehousing experience is ideal.
- Knowledge of warehousing practices and procedures, including receiving and shipping methods, supervision, and accountability.
- Knowledge of leadership and work-management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse-related SOPs, individual account work instructions, and warehouse processes and procedures.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, demanding warehouse environment.
- Ability to train and develop hourly associates.
- Ability to learn Paxon’s proprietary WMS.
- Ability to understand and ensure compliance with SOPs, individual account work instructions, and other warehouse processes and procedures.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel by air and by car as required; travel is less than 5%.
Responsibilities
- Help determine warehouse space requirements and ensure inventory is accurately put away, relocated, and stored.
- Manage daily work schedules for fulfillment associates to support smooth, productive operations.
- Oversee proper operation and maintenance of equipment and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Plan and coordinate staffing to meet daily order fulfillment and shipping needs.
- Train employees in safe equipment operation and material-handling equipment maintenance.
- Motivate, evaluate, and coach warehouse staff.
- Manage the Shipping/Receiving Clerk and Account Leads.
- Recommend programs to the Operations Manager to improve warehouse operations.
- Interview and recommend associate applicants for hire.
- Manage the facility's 5S practices.
- Train and develop hourly associates.
- Learn Paxon’s proprietary WMS and ensure compliance with SOPs, account work instructions, and warehouse processes and procedures.
