About The Position

Paxon is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Seasonal Operations Supervisor to lead warehouse operations during peak season at its Reno facility. The position oversees daily distribution center and shift activities, manages teams, and ensures efficient processes and warehouse productivity. The supervisor promotes efficiency, safety, accuracy, and a collaborative team culture across warehouse functions. The role works in a mix of office and warehouse settings and may involve visiting trailers, navigating roller racks and other logistics equipment, and working at vendor or client locations. Travel by air and car may be required, with less than 5% travel as dictated by the position.

Requirements

3–5 years of related experience in warehousing, receiving, or inventory control; experience in a multi-client warehousing environment is identified as ideal.
Knowledge of warehousing practices and procedures, including receiving and shipping methods, supervision, and accountability.
Knowledge of leadership and work-management principles and practices.
Knowledge of warehouse-related SOPs, individual account work instructions, and warehouse processes and procedures.
Skill in OSHA safety, MS Office, and organizational protocols.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, demanding warehouse environment.
Ability to train and develop hourly associates.
Ability to learn Paxon’s proprietary WMS.
Ability to understand and ensure compliance with SOPs, individual account work instructions, and other warehouse processes and procedures.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.

Responsibilities

Help determine space requirements and ensure inventory is accurately put away, relocated, and stored.
Manage fulfillment associates’ daily work schedules to support a smooth, productive operation.
Oversee proper equipment operation and maintenance and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Plan and coordinate staffing to meet daily order fulfillment and shipping needs.
Train employees in safe equipment operation and material-handling equipment maintenance.
Motivate, evaluate, and coach warehouse staff.
Manage the Shipping/Receiving Clerk and Account Leads.
Recommend programs to the Operations Manager to improve warehouse operations.
Interview and recommend associate applicants for hire.
Manage the facility’s 5S practices.
Train and develop hourly associates.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, individual account work instructions, and other warehouse processes and procedures.
