About The Position

Five Below is seeking a Seasonal Freight Associate to support customers and store operations. Associates greet customers, learn their needs, share product information, recommend merchandise, promote store events and promotions, and help resolve customer concerns. They communicate restocking and service needs to management and work with the team toward store and company goals.

The position involves operating a cash register and other devices, moving and stocking merchandise, retrieving and putting away stock, and assisting customers across the sales floor. The schedule is flexible and may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. The role is hourly, with a starting rate of $11.00.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices.
• Able to communicate effectively and engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
• Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Able to frequently ascend and descend ladders.
• Able to frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
• Able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
• Able to frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
• Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Able to remain stationary in an upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly, including handling multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Assess customer needs, share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer alternative solutions, including exchanges where possible.
• Inform management about restocking and service needs and share customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and support a positive, productive work environment.
• Operate the cash register and other listed devices.
• Move, retrieve, stock, and put away merchandise, including using ladders as needed.
